Supporting Document

What is a supporting document?

You will need to upload either a Self Declaration Document which can be obtained from our Customer Service Team, or a copy of an historical document which shows a direct link to Ireland. There are many types of documents which can be accepted. You can check any accessible family documents or look online.  Old family records may include birth, baptism, marriage or death certificates held by yourself or other family members. If you don’t have copies or originals, many records are available for you to search both online and in person.

Please see our Find Your Document guide for more detailed information.

What do I do if can’t find supporting documents which relate to the recipient's Irish Ancestor?

If you are unsure of how or unable to find a document relating to the recipient’s Irish Ancestor, contact our Customer Service Team for the Self Declaration Document.
